Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) hosted the first meeting of the founders of the Center (the project name - InnoITeam). Investigators, business and government representatives at the event welcomed the initiative, which focuses on the potential of researchers in the field of information technology in the region, reports the media.

The ICT Competence Center, which will be the sole Lithuanian and Swedish researchers and institutions, will develop innovations in the field of cybersecurity of Internet of Things, in the field of health technologies, while responding to the priorities of the "Industry 4.0" initiative, "says Asta Pundzienė, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at KTU. "It is very important to invest in research and innovation, because it has a huge impact on the growth of our country's competitiveness. I believe that the creation of the Internet of Things, the Center for the Development of Information Technology Science and Innovation and its activities will make a significant contribution to innovation, bringing together all available resources and human potential, "said Ramūnas Burokas, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania.
